BOUKOU GROOVE LIVE @ PANDORA’S

Boukou Groove has created a Funk, R&B, Jazz, Blues & Rock sound that has become mesmerizing in the music venues. The group is currently recording a CD at Neptone Recording in Destin, where Donnie and Big D also produce and record.

DERWIN “BIG D ” PERKINS New Orleans born and raised guitarist. Big D’s career began in church. It wasn’t long after, that his slick and uncompromising tasteful guitar style was noticed by some of New Orleans prominent acts. Throughout the years he has been an integral part of the New Orleans music scene and has been able to record and share the stage with artist such as the late great Raymond Myles, Jon Cleary, Bonnie Raitt, Davell Crawford, N’Dea Davenport, Snooks Eaglin, The Neville Brothers, Collage, Gary Brown, Dia-mon, Anthony Bailey, Rockin Doopsie, Master P, Lil Romeo, Juvenile, Choppa, Phillip Manuel, Michael Ward, and Marva Wright just to name a few. Most artist would agree that Big D’s melodic lines leaves a memorable impression on a composition. Along with playing he has also become a sought out Songwriter and Producer . He credits his uncle for starting him to play the guitar and God for his talent.

DONNIE SUNDAL Drawing from a diverse palate of sounds, his voice and sound is soulful, funky, and always rock solid. Donnie’s ability to weave seamlessly among genres, and most importantly, his respect for his art, has earned Donnie the respect of his peers and allowed him to perform alongside many of today’s well known artists, including Junior Marvin (Bob Marley and the Wailers), Sam Bush, Eric Lindell, Col. Bruce Hampton, and the current collaboration with Boukou Groove.Donnie in 2010 earned an endorsement from Moog Music. After studying at Berklee College of Music and touring Canada, Donnie settled in the Southeast, where his band, an Atlanta based band, opened for reggae acts such as Jimmy Cliff, Third World, and Burning Spear. He and his family found themselves in Destin, Florida, an area where he has been able to call home base while touring and in the past few years opened, Neptone Recording Studio.

Derwin “Big D” Perkins recently was seen in the HBO New Orleans series TREME, episode #9 6/14/10 “Wish SomeJone Would Care.” Big D Perkins playing guitar in these scenes with Jon Cleary.
